SCHEDULE

Summer Term: late March/early April to July

Students must attend an exchange student orientation prior to the beginning of the term. Additionally, students may need to depart ArtCenter early if they are enrolled in the spring term prior to the exchange. Students must discuss this with their academic department.

ELIGIBILITY

1) Must have completed at least four terms of undergraduate study prior to exchange term

2) Must have at least one term remaining upon return to ArtCenter

3) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

4) Must not be on academic or disciplinary probation at the time of application

5) Note that the language of instruction is German. UdK recommends an intermediate level of proficiency (B1).

If you do not meet the minimum eligibility requirements you still may be able to apply.

COST

If you are accepted to the program and choose to commit, you will be responsible for paying a $250 non-refundable administrative fee. This fee is due within one week of your acceptance and ensures your commitment to the exchange program.

The cost of this exchange opportunity is the same as full-time ArtCenter tuition for the term.

Additional costs that you will be responsible for are: housing, round-trip airfare LAX-Berlin (~$750-$1,100), passport ($135), visa (if necessary), and daily personal expenses such as meals, souvenirs, toiletries, supplies, local transportation, cell phone, etc. (~$40-$50 / day).

What is an ArtCenter Exchange Program?

Spend a term at one of ArtCenter’s partner institutions around the world!

Earn up to 15 transfer credits. You will pay ArtCenter tuition for the term and maintain your financial aid package as eligible. Housing and other expenses are additional.

Submit your application through the Global Programs Application Portal.

Step 2 — Department Nomination & Partner University Application
If nominated by your department, you will then submit a second application directly to DELFT University.

Cost

Administrative fee
After you are nominated by your department and accepted by the exchange university, you will pay a $250 fee to ArtCenter Global Program to confirm your participation.

ArtCenter Tuition
Tuition for this exchange program is the same as full-time ArtCenter tuition for the term, including financial aid as eligible.

Additional estimated expenses to consider
• Housing (varies by location)
• Round-trip international airfare: up to $1,500
• Passport: $135
• Visa (if required) and student residence permit (if required)
• Supplemental health insurance policy (if required by the location)
• School project supplies (as needed)
• Daily living expenses (meals, transportation, etc.): $500–$600 per month, varies by location and personal budget

Financial aid and scholarships are not available from the exchange institution.

The Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) is one of the largest and oldest arts universities in the world. Founded in 1696, the university brings together programs in Fine Arts, Architecture, Media & Design, Music, and Performing Arts.
