What is an Individualized Study Abroad Program?
This external program type allows you to study abroad and transfer credit to ArtCenter to fulfill major and/or H&S requirements with approval. You may also use state/federal aid if you are eligible through FAFSA.
What is Victoria University of Wellington?
Victoria University of Wellington offers an immersive semester in Wellington, New Zealand's capital city. Students apply to Victoria University and study there for a semester while earning transfer credit toward their ArtCenter degree.
How to Apply

Submit ArtCenter Global Programs application by:
February 1 — Summer or Fall term abroad
September 1 — Spring term abroad

Credit
Transfer up to 15 credits to ArtCenter
Students seeking transfer credit must complete ArtCenter's Individualized Study Abroad Authorization process.
Schedule:
Fall Term: End of June – Early November (Spring term in New Zealand)
Spring Term: Mid February – Late June (Fall term in New Zealand)
ELIGIBILITY
• Have completed at least three undergraduate terms
• Have at least one term remaining at ArtCenter after returning
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Not be on academic or disciplinary probation at the time of application
• Not have previously participated in an individualized program

COST
Administrative fee
Pay a $250 fee to ArtCenter’s Global Program Office to confirm your participation.
Tuition
Participants in Arcadia Abroad programs pay all tuition and program fees directly to Arcadia Abroad. Please follow this link for a full breakdown of these fees and what they cover. No ArtCenter tuition will be due for this program.
Additional estimated expenses to consider
• Round-trip international airfare: up to $1,500
• Passport: $135
• Visa (if required)
• Daily living expenses (meals, cellphone charges, toiletries, etc.): $50–$60 per day, varies by location and personal budget
Financial Aid
• You may use eligible state and federal financial aid if you complete ArtCenter’s Individualized Study Abroad Authorization process.
• ArtCenter institutional scholarships and grants are not available for this program.

Housing
Victoria University of Wellington provides two fully furnished single-room housing options, both with wifi access.
Everton Hall — Dorm-style housing within walking distance of the main Kelburn campus and downtown Wellington. With nearly 200 students, mostly local New Zealanders, Everton is ideal for students who want to live alongside Kiwi students. Each flat has three or four single rooms with a communal kitchen, bathroom, and living area, plus access to a common room with table tennis, a pool table, and video game consoles.
Kelburn Flats — Fully furnished houses dotted around the Kelburn campus, with a large international student population and a Kiwi Resident Assistant in most houses. Staff runs events throughout the semester including sporting events, crafts, and other social activities.

About The Program
Victoria University of Wellington offers a Bachelor of Design Innovation (BDI) program focused on preparing students for careers in design-related industries. Studio classes and seminars encourage an experimental approach to design, pushing the limits of creative and thoughtful design solutions. The university also offers unique courses examining the historical and cultural background of the Māori and other indigenous peoples of Pacific Island societies.

Examine the rich history and diversity of cinema, and learn how to interpret, critique and make films. You'll explore the medium from many angles, including historical, cultural and technological. The Film program offers a range of specialised courses, including on Aotearoa New Zealand, Hollywood, and alternative cinemas.
